Chiranjeevee Pokhrel for DCnepal, Feb 08, 2016 - The black market has continued even after the clearance of Birgunj – Raxaul border blockade. After the 135th day of the blockade, Birgunj – Raxaul border also has been cleared since Friday; and the goods are being imported from there. Before this, the consumable goods were being entered from all other non-Birgunj borders. In spite of that, except some jack-holders and the rich people, no-one has been able to get the goods at right prices. And, so now also, there is condition of Might is Right as they are not going to lose the grip of the market they have held on their control.

The Rs.1,500 costing gas might have decreased from Rs.5,000 to Rs.3,000; and other goods also might have decreased at the same ratio; but the black market exist as it was in the market.

Some days ago, though Oil Corporation had declared that the corporation had sufficient stock of the fuel; neither the NOC has started distributing the fuel from petrol pumps nor the Government has started managing the market. In such a condition, the jack-less public are at the edge of the climax pathos.

Let’s see what changes occurred due to the clearance of Birgunj – Raxaul border.

Manju Koirala (48) had lost her husband in an action against the then Rebellion Maoist in 2057; and she had lost her 11-year-old son in 2058 due to lack of treatment expenses. Then after, she has got a shelter at one home located at Ghattekulo, Kathmandu.
