Country is going through dark situation and in this situation too Ministry of Energy and Electricity Authority are preparing to purchase electricity from the neighboring country India in a high rate to reduce load shedding in Nepal instead of completing the work of construction companies as soon as possible and generating electricity in own country.
Nepal- India cooperation in Power Sector meeting was held on Friday did an agreement to purchase 80 megawatt electricity from Dhalkebar, Mujafapur transmission line within upcoming three weeks. Now too, various places of India are exporting 235 megawatt electricity to Nepal and 80 megawatts is going to add now, which becomes total 315 megawatt electricity. Now, 315 megawatt electricity will be imported from India.
Electricity Authority said that electricity is being imported from Dhalkebar, Mujafapur transmission line for recently. Mukesh Raj Kaflem, Managing Director of Electricity Authority said that it’s the thing how much Nepal can purchase it is not that how much India can sell. Recently we have been importing 235 megawatt from 13 transmission line and this is helping somehow in this lacking energy.
There was a meeting of Joint Working Group held on Thursday and Friday and in that meeting there was an agreement of purchasing and selling of electricity among India and China. Suman Prasad Sharma, Secretary of energy Ministry said the meeting helped to find out the way for electricity business.
